What is
Breast Implant Correction?

Breast implants need frequent visits to a plastic surgeon to stay maintained and not cause any risks inside the body. Over time, implants can rupture inside the body, displace, or become disproportionate. Women with no implants can also experience asymmetry between both breasts.

For all these issues, NexGen offers a comprehensive breast implant correction procedure. Our board-certified surgeon — Dr. Yamini — helps women increase or reduce the size of their breasts to match the other. We develop the right treatment plan based on your requirements to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

BENEFITS
  • Improves the symmetry of both breasts and nipples
  • Evaluates the implants and enhances their condition
  • Corrects the position of implants
  • Reduces the gap between both breasts
  • Enhances the overall appearance of breasts

Treatment Options

Traditional Breast Reduction

Traditional breast reduction includes making different incisions depending on the patient’s requirements. These incisions help the surgeon reach excess fat or tissues, dislodge them, and remove them from the body to reduce the breast size. The surgery typically involves making two types of incisions: lollipop or keyhole.

If you have implants, the surgeon will adjust their position and size to lower the bulkiness of your breasts. This procedure also involves correcting the position of the nipples and areola.

Scarless Breast Reduction

Scarless breast reduction reduces the pain, scarring, and recovery time of traditional breast reduction procedures. It involves liposuction, which removes excess tissues or fats from the patient’s breasts.

The surgeon inserts a cannula into the breast that moves back and forth to loosen the fat. The dislodged fat is then removed through a suction device. Unlike traditional breast reduction, this procedure includes nipple movement or making large incisions.

Nipple Reduction or Revisions

Implants can also change the position, shape, or size of your nipples. People whose nipples have become asymmetrical, protruding, or enlarged can undergo nipple reduction or revision surgery. The surgeon makes multiple incisions around the areola during the procedure to correct the issue and give you the desired nipple size.

Benelli Breast Repair

Breasts with implants can appear uneven, sagging, or loose many years after the surgery. Benelli breast repair surgery helps women tighten their breasts, making them perkier and more voluminous. The surgeon makes a tiny, donut-shaped incision around the areola to remove the excess tissues and tighten the remaining ones. This procedure not only adds volume to the breasts but also gives them the right lift.

Who is a
Good Candidate?

Any woman who has undergone breast augmentation with implant surgery and is unhappy with her breast shape and size can go for breast implant correction. Since implants are artificial devices, they are bound to displace or rupture in the long run. The ideal candidate for breast implant correction surgery is someone who:

  • Is healthy with no underlying issues but is unhappy with their breasts’ appearance
  • Is uncomfortable with the size, shape, and symmetry of their breast implants
  • Can’t perform daily activities due to their breast weight

Procedure Process
and Recovery

1

Assessment

At NexGen, every procedure starts with a one-on-one consultation with our board-certified surgeon: Dr. Yamini. We sit with each patient individually to assess their health, breast composition, and implant condition. Then, we ask about their aesthetic goals and how they want their breast implants to be. After a thorough assessment, we develop a comprehensive treatment plan to help them feel more confident about their breast implant correction procedure.
2

Incisions

The position and size of the incision will depend on the breast implant correction surgery you will go for. If your breasts need implant reduction, the surgeon will opt for any breast reduction procedures. To correct the implants’ position, you will undergo a different surgery. At NexGen, we try to make as few incisions as possible so they are not visible from different clothes.
3

Closing the Incision

After making the desired changes to your breast implants, the surgeon will close all the incisions properly using sutures, bandages, or tapes. It will ensure minimal scarring on your body.
4

Post-Surgery Care

After the breast implant correction surgery, you will receive a post-surgery care plan to help you throughout your recovery. The doctor will recommend wearing a surgical bra or tape for a few weeks after the surgery to reduce swelling. Your breasts will feel tender for 2 days after the procedure. You may feel tired as well.
5

Recovery

The recovery time will depend on the breast implant correction procedure. It’s generally recommended to avoid strenuous activities and workout for 6 months maximum. You shouldn’t do heavy lifting or push-ups for 4 months maximum. Most patients return to work and normal activity within 2 weeks but with proper care. Scarless breast reduction has the shortest recovery period.

FAQs

Can breast implants be adjusted?

Breast implants can be adjusted through correction or revision surgeries. Your surgeon will choose the correct procedure based on your breast composition, implant condition, and aesthetic goals.

How do you fix uneven breast implants?

Breast implants can become uneven over time. The doctor uses one or many surgeries to fix this issue, including breast lift, nipple reduction, and breast reduction.

What is corrective breast implant surgery?

Corrective breast implant surgery replaces, removes, or modifies the existing breast implants in a patient. The goal is to make the breasts return to their size and shape as they were after the initial breast augmentation procedure.
