Treatment Options

Full Brachioplasty

The standard arm lift procedure involves an incision extending from the armpit to the elbow. The surgeon removes the excess fat and skin from the entire area and stretches the remaining skin tightly for a toned appearance.

Extended Brachioplasty

In extended brachioplasty, the surgeon makes an incision in the patient’s elbow from the lateral chest wall and breast. It could also go up to the armpit.

Short Scar Brachioplasty

The standard arm lift procedure involves an incision extending from the armpit to the elbow. The surgeon removes the excess fat and skin from the entire area and stretches the remaining skin tightly for a toned appearance.

Bodytite Brachioplasty

Bodytite brachioplasty helps people with minimal unwanted fat and skin in their upper arms. It doesn’t involve incisions, but the surgeon may make a small cut to access the armpit and elbow. We recommend Bodytite brachioplasty to those patients who need minor skin tightening.

Good Candidate?

A healthy person with no health issues can make their arms toned and well-contoured with the arm lift surgery. It’s recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women to stay away from cosmetic surgeries. An ideal candidate for brachioplasty is one who dreams of having:

Procedure Process
and Recovery

1

Assessment

The arm lift procedure at NexGen starts with a detailed assessment of the patient’s condition. For that, our team, including Dr. Dan Yamini—a board-certified plastic surgeon, sits with the patient, asks them about their requirements, and guides them through the entire procedure. This step is essential, as it helps us develop the best arm lift treatment plan for your aesthetic goals!
2

Incisions

Before the surgery, the doctor will put you under anesthesia for less pain and more comfort. Then, they will determine the length and pattern of the incision based on the amount of excess skin and fat in your arms. The cuts are usually made inside or the back of the arm, typically extending from the underarm to the elbow.
3

Excess Fat Removal

Some surgeons remove the excess fat directly from the incisions, while others treat it with liposuction. After the removal, your doctor will tighten the remaining skin and support tissues and close the incisions through internal sutures. The stitches are usually removed after a week or two of the procedure.
4

Post-Surgery Care

You may experience swelling and bruising in the surgical site after brachioplasty. But once they’re gone, you can easily see your new, nicely-contoured arm. The doctor will apply dressings or bandages to your arm’s incisions and wrap the entire arm in a compression garment for support. They may also place a small tube under your arm’s skin to drain unwanted fluid or blood from the surgical site. You will be given clear instructions about your post-surgery care to recover faster.
5

Recovery

With proper care, you’ll likely return to your everyday life with light activities after two weeks of the surgery. However, it’s better not to exercise or lift heavy weights for six weeks after surgery. The incision scars usually take a year to heal fully. Typically, most patients don’t experience any symptoms after the surgery, but if you do, contact your surgeon or the nearest hospital immediately.

FAQs

What is an arm lift or brachioplasty surgery?

A brachioplasty or arm lift is a surgery that tones down an individual’s upper arm from the back to the elbow. The process involves making an incision depending on the patient’s requirements and removing excess fat or loose skin. The remaining skin tissues are then stretched tightly, and the incision is closed to give the arm a smoother and toned appearance.

Is brachioplasty a major surgery?

Brachioplasty is a major surgery that removes excess fat and skin from the upper arm to give it a well-contoured and toned appearance. The process involves making an incision on the back of the arm extending to the elbow. It also leaves a permanent scar on the arm that takes longer to heal.

How long does an arm lift last?

You can enjoy the results of an arm lift for a decade or so while maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. Since the procedure removes excess skin or fat permanently from your arms, they will look tighter and smoother for a long time.

Is an arm lift surgery risky?

At NexGen, Dr. Yamini performs arm lift surgery with great care and high-end technology, resulting in no complications. However, like every surgery, the arm lift procedure can have some risks, such as infection, blood clotting, or bleeding. We will take you into complete confidence about these situations before surgery.
