BODY PROCEDURE

Thigh Lift (Thighplasty)

At NexGen, we recommend thigh lift surgery to those people who have significantly lost weight.

What is
Thigh Lift (Thighplasty)?

A thigh lift, or thighplasty, involves contouring the thighs by removing excess skin and fat from them and their surrounding areas. This procedure aims to give thighs a firmer shape from the buttocks to the knees. With a thigh lift, you can achieve a well-balanced and adequately toned lower body for a gorgeous appearance.

At NexGen, we recommend thigh lift surgery to those people who have significantly lost weight. After evaluating your age, genetics, and weight fluctuations, our surgeon, Dr. Yamini, will help you remove the loose, sagging skin from your thighs. The result? Slimmer and well-contoured thighs that make you walk with confidence!

BENEFITS
  • Tightens loose skin around the thighs
  • Makes thighs look slimmer
  • Targets hard-to-contoured thigh areas to tone them as desired
  • Enhances buttocks and thigh areas for a proportionate lower body

Treatment Options

Medial Thigh Lift

The medial thigh lifts focus on the patient’s inner thighs. The surgeon makes an incision from the groin to the crease of the buttocks to remove the excess skin or fat. After that, they pull the remaining skin tightly and end the procedure with stitches.

Lateral Thigh Lift

This technique focuses on enhancing the outer thigh area. The surgeon makes an incision from the upper part of the leg (close to the hip) to the groin. The excess fat is removed, and the skin is pulled tightly for a contoured lateral thigh.

Mini Thigh Lift

The mini thigh lift is ideal for minor skin drooping, sagging, or stretch marks in the thighs. The surgeon identifies the areas with excessive fat and then makes the incision accordingly to achieve the desired contouring.

Who is a
Good Candidate?

Anyone tired of bulky thighs or loose skin around thighs or buttocks can go for a thigh lift. However, they must be healthy with no underlying health conditions. Also, pregnant and breastfeeding women should refrain from going under the knife. The ideal candidate for a thigh lift is the one who wants to:

  • Make their thighs toned and slimmer
  • Achieve a proportionate lower body

Procedure Process
and Recovery

1

Assessment

Every procedure at NexGen starts with a thorough assessment. The surgeon sits with the patient, asks about their aesthetic goals, and develops the treatment plan based on the results of these discussions. We aim to make you completely confident about your thigh lift procedure, so we tell you about the entire process beforehand.
2

Incisions

After the assessment, the doctor gives general anesthesia to the patient for minimal pain. Then, they make incisions based on the patient’s requirements and the degree of correction on their thighs. The cuts are either made in the inner area of the thighs or the outer region.
3

Fat Removal From the Thighs

With the help of the incisions, the surgeon removes the excess fat and skin from the patient's thighs and then stretches the remaining skin tightly to close the cuts. They use deep sutures, skin adhesive tapes, or clips within underlying tissues of the thighs to support the new contours.
4

Post-Surgery Care

Right after the procedure, you may feel your thighs tighter and well-contoured. However, in most cases, patients experience swelling and bruising in the treated area. That’s why your surgeon will apply dressings or bandages to your cuts after the procedure. They may also place thin tubes under your skin to prevent excess blood or fluid from accumulating. You will also be guided about the medications to apply topically or take orally and care for the drains and surgical areas.
5

Recovery

Thigh lift incisions usually take longer to heal, averaging 6 to 8 weeks. But your surgeon may recommend light activities in one to two weeks, depending on the condition of your stitches. In rare cases, patients report chest pain, breathing difficulties, or unusual heartbreaks during recovery. If you experience these symptoms, immediately rush to your doctor or the nearest hospital.

FAQs

What is a thigh lift or thighplasty?

Thigh lift or thighplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure in which the surgeon targets the loose skin around the patient’s thigh area and tightens them. The goal is to make the thighs appear smoother, well-contoured, and more toned. Depending on the patient’s requirements, the doctor makes incisions on the thighs to treat skin drooping and sagging.

What are the different types of thigh lifts?

At NexGen, we offer three types of thigh lift procedures: inner or medial thigh lift, outer or lateral thigh lift, and mini thigh lift. In inner thigh lift, the surgeon makes the incision along the groin to the buttocks crease. Meanwhile, in the outer thigh lift, the incision starts from the top area of the legs to the groin. The mini thigh lift can be outer or inner and is only ideal for people with minimal sagging.

What is the most popular type of thigh lift?

The inner or medial thigh lift is the most popular, as it’s ideal for patients with moderate fat or skin removal requirements. The scars are almost hidden in this surgery in most items of clothing.

Are thigh lifts safe?

Thigh lifts are safe if an experienced surgeon like Dr. Yamini performs them. However, as with every surgery, the patient may experience a few risks, such as scarring, infection, pain, bleeding, etc.
