Breast lift surgery aims to improve sagging breasts.
Breast Lift Explained
Dr. Daniel Yamini

What is
Breast Lift?

Sagging breasts are a natural body change in women, resulting from gravity, pregnancy, age, or weight loss or gain. Since every person is different, sagging also varies from mild to severe. Unfortunately, sagging breasts can make a woman insecure about her appearance, deteriorating her personal and social relationships. That’s what NexGen doesn’t want to happen!

Breast lift surgery or mastopexy aims to improve sagging breasts and make them fuller to help patients feel more confident about their appearance. Our surgeon, Dr. Dan Yamini, uses different breast lift techniques depending on every patient’s lifestyle, goals, and degree of sagging. Our goal is to help you live your life with complete confidence!

BENEFITS
  • Gives breasts a firmer appearance
  • Tightens the skin around the breasts
  • Improves nipple projection
  • Enhances the shape of the breasts for a youthful touch
  • Reduces under-breast irritation

Treatment Options

Crescent Breast Lift (Periareolar)

Crescent or periareolar lift is the least-invasive breast surgery method that corrects mild sagging and asymmetry. The surgeon makes an incision on the areola’s top or bottom in the semicircular direction to enhance the nipple position.

Benelli Breast Lift (Circumareolar)

Benelli breast lift reduces the size of areolas. The surgeon removes a piece of donut-shaped tissue from the patient’s areola by making an incision around it.

Lollipop Breast Lift (Vertical)

The lollipop breast lift is ideal for moderate to several levels of sagging. The surgeon makes an incision around the areola, extending to the crease below the breast.

Anchor Breast Lift (Full Mastopexy)

Anchor breast lift is a traditional and reliable technique to improve severe sagging. It involves making an incision around the patient’s areola that goes down the breast’s crease.

Who is a
Good Candidate?

Any woman unhappy with her breasts can opt for breast lift surgery. Pregnant or breastfeeding women with a particular illness, breast cancer, or infection should not go this route. The ideal candidate for breast lift surgery is the one who wants to:

  • Get tighter breasts
  • Restore the fullness of their breasts
  • Have better nipple and areola position

Procedure Process
and Recovery

1

Assessment

Our surgeons use a bioresorbable material like GalaForm/GalaFlex to boost collagen production and provide long-lasting breast support. During your assessment at NexGen Plastic Surgery, the surgeon will first ask about your goals and examine your breasts to develop a treatment plan that fulfills all your expectations. They will also ask you to avoid certain medications and smoking before the procedure.
2

Incisions

Your surgeon will make three incisions in different parts of your breasts. The first is made around the dark skin around your nipple called the areola. The second incision is below the nipple that extends to the breast’s bottom. The last incision is made along the breast’s base. The doctor removes additional skin from the areas left after the breast sagging or aging.
3

Relocation of the Nipple and Areola

After removing the excess skin from the patient’s breast, the surgeon chooses a new place for the nipples and areola. It helps shape the breast to make it look tighter, uplifted, and fuller.
4

Post-Surgery Care

Breast lift surgery typically takes 1 to 3 hours and is performed under anesthesia. Most patients return to their regular work routine after a week or so of the surgery. The doctor will restrict you from showering right after the surgery, but you can do it after at least 3 days.
5

Recovery

You can return to your normal routine in a few weeks by wearing a surgical bra for 3 to 6 weeks. Based on the surgeon's recommendation, breast lift patients can resume their normal activities with mild exercise. At NexGen, our doctor stays in contact with the patient until they’re fully recovered.

FAQs

Do breast lifts really work?

Breast lifts make saggy breasts uplifted, firmer, and tighter. This surgery does not change the breasts’ size but improves their appearance.

What is the best age to get a breast lift?

Some women’s breast tissues fully develop at 16, while others may keep growing till their early 20s. The right time for a woman to go for a breast lift is when they start feeling saggy or droopy. Typically, women between 18 to 25 undergo this procedure for a lifted appearance.

How long does a breast lift last?

Breast lift results usually last 10 to 15 years without any touch-ups, but some may need minor cosmetic alterations for maintenance.

Can I go without a bra after a breast lift?

Deciding to wear a bra after breast lift surgery has zero to no impact on your breasts, so it’s your personal choice.
