Before the process, the board-certified surgeon at NexGen evaluates every patient’s condition, listens to their aesthetic goals, and develops the right treatment plan. Afterward, you will be administered general anesthesia or any other medication for comfort during the procedure.

Incisions

The type of incision will depend on the breast revision surgery your doctor opts for you. It can be near the inframammary or the breast crease, a vertical incision for the breast lift, or a periareolar incision around the areola.

Sealing the Incision

The surgeon will correct your breast size or shape as per your wish. They may replace the implants, improve their position or appearance, or remove them altogether. After the procedure, they will seal the incision using skin adhesives, sutures, or tapes.

Post-Surgery Care

The post-surgery care after a breast revision usually varies depending on the procedure you went through. Your doctor will likely recommend you support a bra, compression band, or undergarment for a few weeks to minimize swelling. If drains are placed under your breast skin, the doctor will also guide you about how to take care of them. You will also be given oral or topical medications to prevent infection.

Recovery

The recovery period for breast revision surgery varies based on the procedure performed. Most women return to work or normal activity after 2 weeks of rest. Strenuous activities must be prevented for at least 6 weeks after the surgery. Your surgeon will restrict you from upper body activities, including shoulder and arm movements, until the swelling disappears.
