FACE PROCEDURE

Brow/Forehead Lift

Rhinoplasty or nose job transforms a bulging or bumpy nose into a well-balanced and proportionate one in the most natural way.

What is
Brow/Forehead Lift?

Aging can make you look angry, sad, or tired, even when you are not. The excess frown lines on your face and drooping brows are common signs of aging, often making the person look way older than their actual age. A brow/forehead lift surgery is an effective solution for this. The procedure tightens the loose skin around your forehead to minimize frown lines and wrinkles.

At NexGen, our board-certified surgeon — Dr. Yamini — performs a safe and effective brow or forehead lift surgery. Your satisfaction is our priority, so our team sits with every patient, listens to their expectations, and devises a treatment plan that fulfills their aesthetic goals. The best part? We keep your scars hidden!

BENEFITS
  • Removes wrinkles from the forehead, nose bridge, and the eyes
  • Minimizes frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Lifts hanging or droopy eyebrows
  • Places the eyelids and eyebrows in the ideal position for a youthful appearance

Brow/Forehead Lift
Treatment Options

Classic or Open Brow Lift

Also known as a coronal lift, this type of brow or forehead procedure includes an incision that goes from one ear to the other across the head’s top. The surgeon usually makes the cut along your front hairline to correct the high forehead in the same procedure.

Endoscopic Lift

In the endoscopic lift, the surgeon makes multiple small incisions in the patient’s scalp. They insert a thin tube (called a scope) with a camera into an incision to see your underlying muscles and tissues on a screen. Meanwhile, they place another device in the nearby incision to correct the tissues with a permanent or temporary stitch below the scalp.

This procedure is minimally invasive, with a shorter recovery period and minimal scarring.

Limited Incision Technique

This type of forehead or brow lift technique combines the open brow lift and the endoscopic lift procedures. Your doctor will make multiple small incisions to correct your underlying tissues without using a scope. The limited incision technique won’t adjust your forehead’s center, but it will minimize frown lines and wrinkles around your eyes.

Procedure Process
and Recovery

1

Assessment

The forehead/brow lift procedure at NexGen starts with a detailed consultation between the patient and the surgeon. Dr. Yamini will sit with you to listen to your concerns about your appearance. He will then evaluate your health condition and develop the most effective course of action depending on your aesthetic expectations. For your comfort, you will be administered anesthesia before going into surgery.
2

Incisions

The brow lift incisions are generally of two types: endoscopic incision and open (coronal) incision. To make an endoscopic cut, the doctor uses a scope attached to a camera and inserts it into the targeted area through one incision. This procedure includes multiple small incisions along the patient’s hairline.
Comparatively, the coronal incision is made from one ear to the other across the top of the patient’s head. The surgeon may make another incision at the anterior hairline to correct the high forehead.
3

Lifting and Adjusting the Forehead Skin

After the endoscopic incision, the doctor adjusts the underlying muscles and tissues to correct visible frown lines and creases. They also lift the forehead skin to give you a youthful appearance. In the case of coronal brow lifts, the surgeon lifts the brows without impacting the height of your front hairline. Once the desired changes are made, your doctor will close the incisions through dissolvable sutures, special clips, or skin adhesives.
4

Post-Surgery Care

You will have to rest after the brow or forehead lift surgery to let the discomfort and numbness settle in. Your surgeon will give you a comprehensive post-surgery care plan with instructions for sleeping and caring for the bruises. You must keep your head up when sleeping to avoid the pressure on the surgical site. Ensure to apply or take medications on time to return to work quickly.
5

Recovery

You can return to work or your normal routine within two weeks after the surgery. Just follow your post-surgery care plan and avoid lifting weights or working out vigorously for a few weeks.

FAQs

Are a forehead lift and a brow lift the same?

A forehead and brow lift are the same because they’re performed in one procedure. This cosmetic surgery lifts your droopy or hanging eyebrows and minimizes the frown lines on the forehead. The goal is to give your face a more lifted and youthful appearance.

Does a brow lift reduce the forehead?

A brow lift doesn’t actually reduce the forehead, but it minimizes wrinkles or frown lines by raising the eyebrows at the ideal position. If you have hooded eyes, the surgery can also improve your upper eyelids.

What does a forehead lift do?

A forehead lift removes additional fat and skin in the forehead and tightens the muscles for a lifted look. It also corrects hooding eyes, wrinkles, and frown lines on the forehead.

How long does the forehead lift last?

The forehead lift results can last for over a decade, depending on how well you follow your doctor’s post-surgery care guidelines.
