Smooth Implants

Smooth implants are usually made of silicone, which gives them a non-porous texture. They are easy to insert within the patient’s chin and are equally easy to remove. This process is quite simple and only involves a small incision.

Tumescent liposuction involves using a wetting solution (diluted lidocaine plus epinephrine) to loosen the fat cells in the patient’s body. The surgeon injects it in the targeted areas and suctions out the unwanted fat tissues. This technique promotes skin tightening for a well-contoured body.

Assessment

The chin implant surgery is an outpatient procedure that’s performed using anesthesia for less discomfort and pain. Dr. Yamini will first sit with you to discuss your aesthetic expectations, pain threshold, and skin condition. After a thorough evaluation, he will decide on the right implants for your chin enhancement surgery.

Incisions

Depending on your assessment, the surgeon makes a small incision inside your mouth or underneath the chin. The incision will allow them to access the chin tissues for placing the implants.

The Placement of Chin Implants

The doctor then inserts the implants inside your chin around the chin bone. It will give your chin a nice contour and definition, making your face look more proportionate. At this stage, the surgeon may also decide whether you need any other plastic surgery or not to achieve the perfect facial feature balance. After the surgery(s), the incision is closed, and the bandages are applied to the chin.

Post-Surgery Care

The chin implant surgery is usually an hour long, but it may take longer if you have more surgeries. You will feel swelling and discomfort after the procedure. The doctor will give you a comprehensive post-surgery care plan to reduce the swelling and shorten your recovery period. You will be advised to sleep with an elevated head and avoid strenuous activities for two weeks. As for diet, you must consume only liquids for two days post-surgery.

Recovery

Most chin implant patients at NexGen return to work and routine life a week after surgery. The discomfort goes away with cold compresses and pain-relief medications in a few days. Many people continue their strenuous activities for 3 to 4 weeks post-surgery. The complete results of the surgery will start to appear after a month, which will get even more refined after 3 months.
